Forest & Pond Dwellers: Get excited about animals! Spend each day investigating a different type of animal through observation, touching, and creative activities. Explore the world of insects, reptiles, amphibians, birds, and mammals. Enjoy activities and games about animals. 7/26-7/30, 8/16-8/20
Inspired By Nature Created By You: Come experience art from art’s original source “nature”. Let’s get creative outdoors! We will use natural items, found objects and artist materials to express our creative side. We will hike trails and wade in woodland streams drawing inspiration from nature. 6/28-7/2, 7/19-7/23, 8/2-8/6
Motion In Nature: Move to the sounds of nature enhanced by music. Become a dancing butterfly, tumbling turtle or twirling bird after creating your own costume for the day. All activities are geared toward enhancing coordination and balance. 7/6-7/9, 7/26-7/30
Natures Explorers Club: Explore the terrain around the center looking for creatures and their habitats. Senses will be heightened as we look and listen for signs of these creatures. Adventures will include bug catching, pond exploration, games, stories, crafts and more. 6/22-6/25, 6/28-7/2, 7/19-23, 8/2-8/6
Out Of This World: Discover what lies in space beyond the earth including the moon, planets and stars! The class will build and launch a rocket. Create constellation and solar system models as you explore the world beyond. Become a part of a human solar system. 7/12-7/16, 8/16-8/20
Trail Blazers: Join us as we travel our trails to forests and ponds discovering the fun that can be found in the woods. It will be a week of outdoor exploration, hiking, playing trail games, singing trail songs, telling stories, viewing the sights and sounds of the forest and completing arts and crafts projects. 7/12-7/16, 8/9-8/13
Up In The Air: Spend the week discovering what makes the air around us so amazing. Learn about air and wind using balloons, bubbles, paper airplanes, homemade miniature parachutes, and kites. 6/22-6/25, 7/6-7/9, 8/9-8/13
Last Hurrah! Outdoor Adventure Club - August 23-27
The final full week of summer will be spent learning about the environment around the PMEC through hikes, pond exploration and walks in the stream. Each days lesson will focus on a different part of our environment. We will go fishing, play games, sing songs, create works of art and most of all have fun. Students Grades K - 8 (kids will be grouped by age)
