Counselors in Training
Volunteer Counselors in Training (CIT) and Junior Counselors in Training (JrCIT) will work with our camp counselors, under the direction of the program director, to provide a fun camp environment for all children.
Students entering grades 9 & 10 will be considered for the position of Counselor-in-Training (CIT) and students entering grades 7 & 8 will be considered for the position of Junior Counselors in Training (Jr.CIT) , both of these volunteer programs are for Amherst & Mont Vernon residents only. We will accept two Jr. CIT's and two CIT's each week in the program and each Jr.CIT and CIT is limited to two weeks in the program. CITs and Jr. CITs must sign up for a full week time period, this is a week long comittment. These positions are filled on a first come first serve basis.
Please note that you must register online in the weeks that you want to volunteer and complete the Counselor in Training volunteer application to secure your spot. The Counselor in Training volunteer application form required for CIT's and JrCIT's is available on this website in the Department Information section under forms. Please complete the form and mail it to us at Amherst Recreation, P.O. Box 960, Amherst, NH 03031. The program fee is $25 per participant/week.
