Yoga for Adults
We offer three class options for Adult Yoga with long-time instructor, Leslie Formby. Choose the one that works for your schedule!
Please note, 16 and 17 year olds are welcome to register for the Wednesday evening classes.
Tuesdays at PMEC, 10-11:15 Intermediate Yoga
This 75 minute class includes gently flowing yoga poses, breath work, meditation and relaxation. Letting our breath lead our movements, we move gently through sun salutations as we strengthen, stretch and tone our body and mind! Previous yoga experience helpful. Wednesday Evenings at SHS, 7-8:15pm Combination Class of Gentle and Intermediate
This 75 minute class will bring the best of Gentle and Intermediate classes together. Leslie will have options for all students so that they are working at a comfortable level, allowing for both new and experienced students to participate.
Thursdays at PMEC, 10-11:15 Gentle Yoga
Yoga poses, breath work, meditation, and relaxation are included in this 75 minute class. Improve flexibility and strength as you begin to tune in to yourself and build your ability to relax. Increase your joy and energy with gentle yoga poses that enliven and rejuvenate you. This class is suitable for all levels.

Amherst Recreation is fortunate to have Leslie Formby, certified Hatha Yoga Instructor, as our yoga teacher. She offers classes for preschoolers, teens and adults.
Adult classes are held at the Peabody Mill Environmental Center (PMEC), Classes for 1st-4th graders are held at Wilkins School, and classes for 5th-8th graders are held after school at Amherst Middle School.
Classes run in grouped sessions and are offered in on on-going basis. Please look at our Youth Classes and Activities list for more information about these classes.
This year, Leslie is offering several brand-new classes for adults, teens and kids. Consider trying something new this year, and relax and strengthen your mind and body!

Alternate location for May 3, 5 and 12
Due to a conflict, PMEC morning classes May 3, May 5 and May 12 will be relocated to Spalding Field, located at the corner of Davis Lane and Christian Hill Road. Please dress for the weather and think about bug spray!
In the case of rain, class will be held in the Community Room at the Amherst Firestation, 177 Amherst Street.
