Spanish for Homeschoolers

This program is currently unavailable. Click here to view all of our current programs.

Senora Rowley is a Spanish-speaking native. She has taught Spanish to children from preschool to high school in the classroom, as a tutor and for the Amherst Recreation Department for many years. She is known for her stellar reputation, her nurturing way and her deep love of Spanish language and culture.

She will introduce students to the fundamentals of Spanish, including grammar, phonics, and conversation. They will learn about the culture and lifestyles of different Spanish-speaking countries including Central America, South America and Spain. Students will be assessed in the beginning of the program and will receive instruction tailored to their current knowledge of Spanish. Class work will be supported with music, worksheets, games and books. Some homework may be given.

Spanish for Homeschoolers will now be offered at a new time and location, Wendesdays from 2:35-3:35, held at Amherst Middle School, 14 Cross Road. Students will be blended with those registered for "After-School Spanish at AMS" , which is the same program as the one run at the PMEC.
