  • Grey uniform pants are required.
13-15 year olds: Babe Ruth

  • Grey uniform pants are required.
  • The New Hampshire Babe Ruth league consists of 8 to 9 teams from Merrimack, Milford, Hollis/Brookline and Amherst. This is a Middle School friendly league! The league recognizes that Middle School practices and games are the priority. The New Hampshire Babe Ruth practices will be held after Middle School practice times. Babe Ruth games will generally be played on Wednesdays and Saturdays to not conflict with Middle School games normally played on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If there is ever a conflict in schedule, the Middle School will take priority.
  • The Amherst Recreation Department encourages all players trying out for the Middle School team to also sign up for Babe Ruth before the March 10 cutoff. If the player makes the Middle School team, no conflict and more games to play. If the player does not make the team, then there is still a team to play on. Players that want to pitch will get the opportunity with Babe Ruth. The schedule extends beyond the Middle School schedule with playoffs and a great weekend tournament in Merrimack.
  • NOTE: The 7th & 8th grade player who is trying out for his/her school team is encouraged to sign up and come to the screenings. Those players who subsequently make the Middle School Basketball team and decide not to play for this baseball program will get a full refund of their registration fee if they notify us of their decision prior to the start of regular season practices.
Screening Info
Hello parents,

Baseball season is fast approaching! This is a reminder to all players and parents that there will be a mandatory skills screening this Sunday (3/15) from 1-3pm at Souhegan High School. Please have your player wear sneakers and bring a baseball glove. No bats, cleats, or other gear is required. The players will be guided through a series of stations that will include hitting, fielding, and pitching. Once your player is checked in, please head up to the balcony section of the gym.

The schedule will look as follows:

1pm-2pm- All players who are of the baseball age 7, 8 or 9
2pm-3pm- All players who are of the baseball age 10, 11, or 12

If you have a conflict, please notify me as soon as possible at aciarcia@amherstnh.gov. The SHS gym is accessed through the rear glass doors located on the left hand side of the building as you face the front of the building. The high school has asked that we adhere to the rule of no food or drinks other than water in the gym.

Thank you and see you all this Sunday,

Amber Ciarcia
