Amherst Recreation is excited to have Amherst resident and Irish native Paula Garvey join us as an instructor.
"My name is Paula Garvey. I grew up in Ireland and moved to the US in 2001. I spent 12 years teaching Home Economics in Ireland – my experience ranged from teaching cookery to Adults with learning disabilities to teaching teenagers in a Gaeltacht Area( speaking Irish!) how to run a school food business. I love good food and truly believe in serving pure, homemade, unprocessed food for my family. My mother was a great cook and we grew up on a diet of traditional Irish foods. I have also travelled extensively and spent a year working as a cook in Australia, so my tastes have changed since my Irish childhood! I continue to use many of these recipes.
Paula also offers cooking programs for chldren under Kids CAN Cook!
