Have you noticed that there are tiny computers in almost everything? Have you ever wanted to make these tiny computers do your bidding? Are you interested in robotics, home automation, or just like making things that blink and buzz?
This class is an introduction into a very popular microcomputer called the Arduino. These tiny, yet powerful, computers can be used for countless tasks including robotic control, home automation, wearable electronics and interactive displays, just to name a few.
Each student will be sent home with their own Arduino microcomputer inventors kit. This will include all the parts needed for the class and to continue exploring at home.
Arduino Basics
Learn the ins and outs of the Arduino microcomputer. Unveil the mysteries of the microcomputer.
Electronics Wiring
We will create simple circuits to blink lights, read sensors, detect buttons, drive motors and displays. We will learn basic “bread boarding” techniques for rapid circuit design and development.
Software Development
An introduction into the software interface and programming language used for the Arduino computers. We will ease into programming with simple examples, easy to write code and fun results. Don’t be scared! This is the fun part.
