DIY Wood Shop Decor- Painted Sign

Working with power tools can be intimidating, but learning the safe way to operate them opens up a world of DIY and custom décor. This class is part of a series to introduce you to the most commonly used tools for those special projects.

We’ll use a 1” x 6” board to make a sign with the word of your choice. The length of the board will depend on the word you choose, max 24”

You’ll learn the basics of shop safety and how to use a chop saw, aka power miter saw.
We will cut the boards to length as well as paint them and learn to apply vinyl either as a stencil for more paint or as an appliqué. There are 3 standard words to choose from and 4 letter styles. During registration there will be a form to enter your choice of 1 word: Family, Thankful, or Welcome; and 1 font: Serf, Sans Serif, All Caps or Script
Please indicate your choice when you register. 

**For an additional materials fee you may order a custom cut vinyl made with a word that has meaning to you. Pick from 1 of the 4 font styles. The last date to order a custom vinyl word is Friday 11/3. Please email Sarah at sarahstudio45@gmail.com to set that up.

*If you wish to wear gloves and/or a dust mask, you must provide those for yourself.
Please ensure your hair is pulled back and that you’re wearing close toed shoes. Do not wear flowy/flouncy clothing – especially sleeves. It is usually wise to not wear jewellery in the shop.
