French Rolling Pin Class

Our December 19th class is full, but if you would like, you may place your name on the waiting list in case we have a cancellation

All wood and Consumables will be provided in the class

Who: Adults 18 years or older (4-10 students)
What: Make a French Rolling Pin (tapered pin)
Where: Amherst Makerspace
When: Saturday, December 16st - 11:00am -3:00pm
           Tuesday, December 19th 7pm-9pm
(MUST also take Safety Class first)
Fee: $20R; $25NR (includes materials)

 
Safety 





  • Provided:  Full-face shields, safety glasses and hearing protection.


  • Mandatory: Closed-toed shoes.




This class is for hobbyists, beginning woodworkers, and anyone who wants to learn how to set up and turn on the wood lathe.
There is a strong focus on safety, proper set up, and care of equipment.
The French rolling pin will be finished with mineral oil, a food safe finish.

More About Your Instructor!
Steve Opre is a certified Comprehensive Technology Education teacher. He works full time as the Innovation and Design Teacher at the Amherst Middle School and he is a founder of the Amherst Maker Space. He has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and two masters degrees (Business and Finance). His love of woodworking began in middle school in 1972 and he brings his passion for woodworking to all his students both young and old. He is well known for his patience and clear communication style which makes this class perfect for beginners.  Steve’s amiable “coaching style” and sense of humor make him a popular teacher with all levels of woodworkers.
