Deck the trails with boughs of holly… or anything that would help spread the holiday cheer!
This holiday season join The Amherst Parks & Recreation Department and The Amherst Conservation Commission and help us decorate trees on the Joe English Reservation.
Starting November 24th, find a tree along a Joe English Reservation trail and decorate it however you'd like. Simple or speculator, we'll leave the decorating to you! Individuals, families or groups are invited to go out and find the decorated trees throughout the reservation, take a selfie and post it on Instragram or Facebook with #deckthetrails.
Please Note: Although edible decorations are encouraged, anything an animal can eat they will eat in 24 hours... so be aware that your decorations might not last long.
Participants are responsible for finding the right tree, decorating the tree and taking decorations down by Tuesday, January 2nd.

Where: Any trail on the Joe English Reservation, 66 Brook Rd Amherst, NH 03031
Fee: Free- While this program is Free, we ask that you register below in order to know how many decorated trees are on the trails.
Decorating Rules and Tips:
Please notify Celina Dutremble at cdutremble@amherstnh.gov with the location of your tree.
Amherst Rec and ACC is not responsible for any lost or stolen decorations.
All decorations must be taken down by January 2, 2023. After that date all decorations will be removed.
If using wire hangers wrap them around the branch so the wind or snowstorms do not blow them off.

Ribbon works well
Bring a small ladder or step stool
Wheelbarrow can hold a lot of stuff and best way to get things in and out.
