Backcountry Survival Skills
Have you ever wanted to learn how to survive the winter outdoors? Rachel and Olivia will be teaching the basics of backcountry survival skills with lessons including cooking (thanks to a wonderful donation from Jetboil), shelter building, hypothermia prevention and map reading. All middle schoolers are welcome to join this fun-focused program, no previous outdoor experience necessary. Please be prepared to spend time outside in the snow, by bringing appropriate clothing.
For some activities sleeping bags, sleeping pads, tarps, and tents will be used. If you are able to lend any of these items for the day, please note in your registration.
