Winter Walking Program for Seniors

The NH Wellpoint Foundation and The Amherst Recreation Department are pleased to announce the Hampshire Dome will be available for free to Amherst residents 70 years and older from 11/7/23 to 4/12/24 weekdays, except Monday, from 10 AM to 1PM for Senior Winter Walking. We hope you will use the facility often, walk safely, and enjoy both the experience and the socialization with other walkers. 

Please note the following--




  • The program is opening 2-3 weeks earlier this year. 


  • It does require a one-time registration. Bring a drivers licence or other ID the first time only. 


  • Younger citizens may also walk at the specified hours all winter but with a small charge to cover the costs of the facility. 


  • Souhegan Valley Rides can help with transportation, if needed.
